Hey all, I am putting a 151" x 2" x 15" track under my Phazer and after looking at the tunnel construcion, (multiple pieces of tunnel riveted with a single sheet down the center) I am thinking that it would be possible to widen the tunnel...or even replace the tunnel with an M tunnel...

1. take the tunnel off the sled, (pop several rivets and some nuts),
2. pop the rivets to the center piece,
3. replace the two sides of the tunnel back on the bulkhead on the outside of the bulkhead this time. (Stock they are on the inside)
4. Measure and replace the center piece with a wider sheet,
5. Rivet all back in place, shim the suspension with shims equal to the widening and let r rip.

From my initial measurements a 15" would probably squeeze in the bulk head. (maybe a little shaving required!) Seems like the tunnel is the restriction.

Any thoughts? Can you think of something I'm not thinking of that would prevent this from being an easy change?

Thanks for any input. Please keep it positive!

If only real life was as easy as Paint.

LOL, do it, you will be a Pioneer.

Anything can be done with enough money and time.

Um not really sure but i believe you needs to widen up the front frame to run a 15 wide track, look at the multi purpose sled from yamaha , they got a wider frame to run 15 wide plus tracks . but it may be possible .

very modified MP

here is an MP that I modified because I wanted the wider track format. I am running a 159x16x2 track with no problems

That's rad! Had I researched this a little more before I bought my sled I would have looked for one of those instead. I love the color and the seats on those look so much cooler than the MTX. I can't seem to get used to getting my feet over the super high rear end of the MTX's seat.

I have my sled torn down right now, really thinking about trying to widen it, just torn cause its a lot of work! Maybe I'll just cut the track this time and keep an eye out for an MP to mod out.

Thanks for the reply Karl, like I said before your sled looks awesome, I'll bet it floats beautifully!
