The Phazer Fx and GT were not offered with fan stock.
As for the Base model Phazer, it's not even an option due to the lack of a wiring harness.

I agree! This has nothing to do about people being to cheap on there purchase. If the option wasnt available how can you expect someone to know or even get it?
Everybody does need to complain to "YAMAHA" about the fan and the link (and the bad left motor mount). If this wasnt an issue Yamaha wouldnt have made those updates to the 08, period. Corporations dont spend money unlesss that have too. I have been racing and riding Yamaha Products for over 20 years and I know how they work. People need to complain too the service dept in California or they will try too sweep us under the rug. So please call the customer service dept in California. And why you are at it, use extension 7692 ask for Tom and let him know. Also mention this site and all the other users that have mentioned these problems. Remember the force of many out way the force of one individual.
Thanks Wayfast.

WOW, sorry I was unaware that they didn't have that option for the fan, I never even looked at the base model and short tracks. Now I agree should have been on there but in all honesty I have only had the fan come on once in 1100 miles. So maybe this is an issue that hasn't surface out west.??? If you want it you should still have to pay for it, now that they have made them available. The motor mount thats a safety issue if you ask me they should replace free of charge under warranty. They will only do the work if you make enough noise. I don't know about you guys but I had lots of friends before I met my dealer if he don't like me .............TO FU&%ING BAD, I am the paying customer!

i just got my phazer fx back from the dealer from the updates yamaha issued, i had the snow protection, steering nut and the ecu changed(includind a spring being changed out), i was wondering if anyone else has had there ecu changed out, the dealer showed me the yamaha update sheets, telling the ecu was being changed to fix hard starting below -25
Not that I know of.Maybe just Canada.
I guess im not waiting for updates any more. Just traded my Phazer for a Nytro RTX!

I checked out a nytro while I was waiting yesterday. It felt kinda fat to me. I think I'd like it but for now the phazer stays. Besides I just it all ready to go up north, or here if it ever snows.
Zook: Im in it for the 138hp!!! Otherwise i love the Phazer, greatest sled ive had so far!!!!
I dont think your the only one trading up-- I see sharkattack is doing the same thing. his wifes Phazer is up for sale. Good luck.

well i called yamaha
the only recal was the steering, she said she didnt know anything about the airbox clips.
she told me to bring it to a dealer that i liked, and tell them to look it over for the things i requested, left MM, airbox clips, square idler wheels.
wont help me wiht the fan. wont help me with the linkage. wont help me with the sno gaurds.
well i guess i gained a little bit from calling and complaining.

I contemplated upgrading to the nytro this year for the same reason, MORE POWER!! However when I first sat on the machine and then did the test ride I was not happy with the increased width of the seat and the hadlebar placement. Just didnt feel right compared to the sleek Phazer. Eventually I decided for another almost $4K I can put a boondocker turbo on it and pump out 150hp+ with little added weight compared to the nytro. That made the decision easier for me.
ndc821--So did you go with a Turbo for yours.
