phazer wont engage into gear.

we got a new 2008 phazer rtx with 45km on it and it wont move forwards or backwards. it wont engage into gear. the drive light just flashes. any ideas on what this could be?
The ignition keeps on cutting out also.

Rock it forward and back, the reverse isan't locked into forward. Sometimes you will have to do that.

i rocked it for an hr andpulled it back and forth trying to get it going so i could get home

Sometimes you have to shut the machine off and turn it back on inorder to reset the system.

I did that. I even unhooked the battery for 20 minutes. broken chain in the chain case? if i wanted to check if it was how hard would it be? and would I need a new seal

i would check the chain tensioner first to see if the chain broke, its the screw on the lower part of the chain case with a lock nut on it, it should be finger tight and backed off a 1/4 turn i believe, the case should have a rubber gasket which should be reuseable

With the mountain lites rocking usually works, sometimes we have to lift the rear end and sometime have to shut off and restart.

The reverse sucks - seldom engages when really needed (up to your #*$&@ in snow while breaking trails) and I have to talk to YC about it again - don't have this problem with our other sleds.

I got it to ingage into drive this morning, but when i put it into reverse it wont move. is there a broken reverse chain

well its brand new id bring it back to the dealer its under warenty let them deal with it.

I just don't think you were rocking the machine hard enough.

mine will not engage once every 5 tries,but i just rock it a bit and she pops in gear
