I dont know if anyone else remembers... but when the Phazers first came out a bunch of members had problems with reverse. Most were normal, IE rock it.
However a few had to with the brown reverse sensing or solenoid drive wire touching the exhaust and melting. You have to remove the seat to see it.
A search should reveal some more information.

Yes, I also read of a bad wire location in the SnowTech magazine. Reverse wouldnt engage because the wire was getting melted by the exhaust. Pull the seat and investigate the wiring...
The reverse light comes on.(not flashing) and I can rev it up to 9000rpm and nothing happens. I put it in drive and it will move again. Its startin to piss me off.

I pulled it half a km with a quad before it popped into gear. rocking it does #*$&@ all.

I would be on my way back to the dealership.

My though would be the chain may be too tight.. In that case it may be togh to shift. Could be a bad solenoid. Try loosening the chain see if it shifts. That will help you to isolate the problem a little.

Just came form the Yamaha dealer to visit my Buddy thats a tech there. Customer stated that the reverse did not work, They messed with all the little stuff first. So they took the reverse box out and Found the " Dogs and shift fork had acsess slop in them. Causeing it to go into a false nutrual. This is all cause from lack of oil in reverse box. The reverse box is filled with oil tube from the gear box. You guys figure it out from here.

I went and had a look at it while it was getting tore down today. howly crap. it looked like a skeleton.
Think it should be warranty since the guy said they should of put the shim on b4 i bought it?

Yes, this should all be covered under warranty provided that you didn't tinker with anything. When you have a brand new sled and should you encounter any problems, your first touch point for resolving a problem should be your dealer. This enables any real issues to be logged and passed along to Yamaha U.S.A./Canada.
