Hello everyone, thinking about trading my 2010 rtx in on one of these, wondering what the ride, handling, and speed difference would compared to my rtx, any owners out there that would have any info would be great, I'm not a speed demon, just like to have close to the same speed for the trails. thanks

I think that if you like your RTX you will like the XTX better because of the longer track and better deep snow abilities.
Maybe ATV PRO#11 will chime in soon and give you his feedback on his new 2014 XTX.

yes, this is what I was thinking, going to a 136"or longer seems to be the trend riders are leaning towards these days.I think that if you like your RTX you will like the XTX better because of the longer track and better deep snow abilities.

If I keep my RTX I'm thinking of stretching it to a 136" or 144" next year.

The one I'm looking at is a 2014 xtx leftover, all of my extra's I put on the rtx will fit the xtx which is great, my rtx only has 1000 miles on her, I thought of stretching mine out to, just depends on the deal I get with the xtx, was hoping to gather some info first. thanksIf I keep my RTX I'm thinking of stretching it to a 136" or 144" next year.

Evening guys
Sum it up. Long track with 1.5" lugs makes an absolute world of difference. In combination with the tuner skis its a totally different machine. IMO. I test drove one last year 3 times along with vipers (both chassis with the skid ) and really found the xtx a much more stable, still underpowered machine. In riding the trails here now, whooped out to crap due to lack of snow, I find with the long track it seems to not dive into the whoops and sort of glide over them at reasonable speed like my 07 121. At a quick speed it's very stable considering it has the bottom of the line shocks. Holds a straight line while hitting wot over the whoops. I posted a vid in my photo gallery. I hit that jump twice and in slo mo you can really see it soak up the landing. That bite the 144 has also makes it feel like it has 10 more hp. Not as much spin at the stock 1" 121 if that makes sense.
I would have to add I'm going to invest in some longer carbides for my tuner skis. It need more bite in the front as the 144 really bites leaving the front end a little pushy in the tighter twisty trails. But for me, I like more ski feedback/pressure and that's just my personal preference.
With only 1000miles on your Rtx, stretch it and buy a set of tuner skis. That will probably be close to the monitary loss you take on your Rtx and paying taxes on your new one. You can can call it a rtxtx!!
Hope that helps you'll be happy either route you take I'm sure of that

Thanks Jamie, but I'm still learning and figuring things out since getting into sledding. I'm not the best at explaining, but I try!!
The rtxtx would work for YA as your site name is 71rdrnr.

Thanks for the info, another thing to look at is what is Yamaha got up there sleeve for 2016-17 ? maybe a new phazer 2, in a new body style with 95 to 100hp, I'm thinking this is in the works to answer to the 900 ace, Yamaha is a motor company and could easily do this, wouldn't that be great, they seem to drop hints about it now and then, maybe I will hold out so I won't be locked into a older style sled, my rtx is a great sled and fun to ride, best I've had in awhile compared to a 2 smokes, see what happens, thanks so muchEvening guys

I think a new "phazer" or Phazer replacement is due also. The current Phazer already competes well with the 900 ACE, mine has no trouble walking them from 0-75mph where they slowly start to catch up and pass me but by then I'm out of gear and approaching the rev-limter. I've been riding an "XTX" since 09', put a set of wide/trail arms and the 1.5" free ride track on my MTX and its been a great all around machine, trail rides well for a 144" and carves up the flat lands around here with ease in the powder.
