Hey guys,
Just picked up my new 2005 holdover Rage today!!!!! I am new to this site (have been reading it for a few months) and also new to the 4 stroke world. Any advise on how to break them in? Not like 2 strokes where you have to put oil in the gas for the first so many miles?

Welcome to the site
Good choice on a sled, I had one last season and really liked it.
While the proper break-in procedure has been pretty much beat to death, it really boils down to common sense and you don't have to add anything to the fuel or oil. The key is to load the engine but not put it under sustained load for a prolonged time. Short WOT rips across a field and backing off is a good thing. Holding it pinned down a RR grade or a river for miles and miles is a bad thing.
Hopefully, you'll enjoy your new 4-stroke as much as the rest of us who've been converted. I'm on my third and have no plans of looking back.

The biggest problem I had with my Rage was trying to figure out exactely how to adjust my suspension ...once I figured it out I wonder why I didn't play with some of the settings more ...but this site REALLY help and a good Yammi mechanic buddy of mine too! Now this thing is killer on the trails just love it!

Yamacrazy, what did you have to do to your suspension. I am also going to do some adjusting and not exactly sure where to start, or where the correct balance of things it going to be.

Not sure with full gear, probably around 225. Feels to me like I have a little too much weight transfer. Coming out of the corners if you hit it the inside ski really wants to lift.

lift the front of your sled off the ground and loosen the front springs so there not shaking on the adjusters those springs on the Rage are heavier than the vector and theres plenty of gas pressure in the shock anyways ...the springs are really there to assist in large bumps. I have my front shock in the rear skid adjust 3/4 way to stiffest setting approx..center adjustment slide bolt in stock setting(I believe center slot?) and clicker turn in on the stiffer side about 12 clicks clockwise in out of 17 ...and I'd have to look but its on the trailer now so ..I think the rear shock also is one setting away from the stiffest? I'll check in a day or so and let you know. Leave the limiter strap alone thats the last thing you would adjust if at all.yamaha1 said:Not sure with full gear, probably around 225.
