Pics of Jackshaft Bearing damage

jtssrx: See my post " Is Yamaha admitting to Jackshaft bearing problem".

LB: Jackshaft showed signs (color) of heat on both sides of the break. The metal also looked "crystalized". (Also think I saw a piece of a used rubber in there too) As for damge5.jpg some of the shrapnel hit the reduction gear housing and appears to have only cracked the housing and snapped the bolt. A new housing cover, drill and re-tap bolt should take care of it...I hope. Again, still waiting on dealer to tear down for inspection.

race24x: There's usually a couple a year that get to take the "High" trail home.

SnowBandit: Just slung a strap through the rear suspension. Carried her nose-down. Also threw a ratchet strap around the cowling. Didn't need her flying open during flight!

By the way..this sled is so aerodynamically high tech... that flying vertical at 85 knots.....she didn't even spin!!!!!! :D :D :D

Leeko: no word from Yamaha yet.

Dude! Don't you think you should have sent these pics to yamaha first before posting them on here? It probably would have gave you a little leverage, since your warranty has expired.

I really don't think that it would be in his best interests to blackmail Yamaha. In fact, they, if they know that the pics are posted, should realize that IF they warranty it, then it WILL be posted that they did, which would show VERY favorably. Not that they will realize the connection between THESE pictures and the warranty request.....

Yet bet LB! I think there's a LOT of people anixous to see what the out come of this will be. I will definately let you guys know...good or bad, when I know.
Called Dealer again yesterday...they still haven't got to it
