Ok first time I have every had to adjust these. Where are they on the carb? Are they the screws right in front of the bowls on the bottom? Do you turn them all the way in and then back them out 2 turns for sock? So if I do two whole turns they should be seated if they never been touched before correct? I am attempting to setup the sled for higher evaluation out west. I turned these screws two turns and they didn't seem to seat in that is why I am asking. I put them back to where they were stock thinking I was doing something wrong.

I am trying to set the carbs at 3/4 turn according to the book.

Thanks
Brian

The general consensus is 2 turns out from lightly seated.

X2 dont be afraid to seat them and set them two turns out. It will run just fine.

What is 2 turns when adjusting the pilot screws. Is it 2 180 deg. turns or 2 360 deg. turns? I've always set them 2 full 360 deg turns out, but wanted to hear how others are setting them. Thanks.

2 full 360* turns. they are all over the board stock. just turn them all the way in until lightly seated, then out 2 turns...

pilot screwq

i have a 2006 vecto,r on pilot screws they have cover over them
what the best way to remove cover
TOMBOB

carefully drill a small pilot hole just through the thin cover, then turn a screw in the hole and pull it off. Be careful not to hit the jet screws under the cover with the drill or screw,,,, they are soft.

What is the stock setting for these pilot screws on a 2008 Yamaha vector? Still 2 full 360 degree turns backed out, once lightly seated, like the RX1-1? Also, what does each pilot screw have for parts? One metal washer, one rubber o-ring, and the one spring? Thanks!!

Get them synched. It's worth it.
Yup, I did that last year. Might do it again this year, if I do not like how smooth the idle is. Right now though it is running awesome!! So I did not mess up the pilot screws, lol. I have the sync tool, so I might re sync them if I get a chance. Either way that is minor, lol. My sled is fully put back together, and running great!! Took it for a small ride just to test the carbs.
