Hey guys I've got an 06 apex gt and I bought a 10.5:1 wiseco turbo forged piston kit. The kit came with rings and a pink peice of paper saying the ring gap should be .004 for a motor that will not see a turbo or nitrous or high compression. I am going to leave it naturally aspirated with the low compression. I checked the ring gap on the rings in the cylinders and they read .007 for the gaps. So I put the motor together and Im looking through the service manual and notice it calls for a ring gap of .010. My question is can I be safe with a .007 ring gap? Or am I going to have to take the motor back apart? Thanks! I just can't find an answer for this anywhere.

Are you sure it doesn't say .004 times the bore size = ring gap,I own a automotive machine shop and do hi performance engines, just call wiseco and ask then...In the automotive field .004 is unheard of..

Well you may be right then. I'll just take it apart again to keep my stress level down. Took my all day to cautiously put that thing together. Thanks for your help! But if anyone else has input on this, please let me know.

Set it up at .015" on the top ring and .017" on the 2nd ring. You will be fine with those measurements.
