Is wiseco a good brand to with for pistons? looking to find something to raise the compression....Anyone know if lighter rods are an option for this engine? any help would be appreciated!

I wouldn't put wiseco pistons in my weed wacker. I've never had any luck and neither has anybody I know that used them.

Haha! Well is there another company that makes pistons for Yamaha? Cant find any

I would stay with yamaha pistons myself, they seem to be the strongest, and you can get different compression pistons right through your dealer. But if you do decide to go with wiseco, I would get a hold of MPI because they run there special wiseco pistons. They have them machined so that you can run yamaha rings on them. The wiesco rings seem to be the weak link for them. But as far as rods I would say crower but your gonna pay for them. For the price of all that you could probably be close to the price of boost.
What are you looking to gain from raising the compression? These engines make a ton of power with just bolts ons and proper tuning.

Well i was looking for a cheaper way to make some power...didnt wanna spend the big price for boost...little costly but def worth the performance im sure! I know in a 2 stroke you could plane the heads and raise the compression and male some good hp with pipes and proper jetting. I just wanted to know if you could do the same with these 4 strokes..... BTW has anyone tried the full aaen exhaust? They claim 14hp over stock with header and mega pipe..... I dunno? Seems like a nice setup tho!

Which full system would have better results with an air intake? The Aaen...Excell or Hindle? Im getting ideas for summer mods(hopefully).
What other performance mods would you guys recommend other than boost?

See my sig for the mods I have, it's a big difference in power from stock. Even with all that, I believe boost is the last mid for me.....I hope.

I can pretty much garantee 14.6hp from a Hindle with an airbox mod and proper tune...and that's with a noise reducer...Mach9 got 18.6 with the same setup minus the noise reducer. My sled is an absolute animal now with the mods listed in my sig.

I was going towards the hindle setup too because hurricanes shop is approximately 2 and a half hours from my place... No US border hassle. Would it create higher numbers with the k&n filters?
