2010 FXNytro MTX 162 SE with a 270 hp MCX Turbo and assorted goodies!
Ended up breaking the tabs off the headlight cover. Been nursing them along for a few years, and today was the last straw. Looking for a good used or new one.

I only have one tab left on mine, too.

They're only around $35 new. 8GC-77251-00-00

Wow! Up in Canada I was quoted $108 last week at my dealer!

I drilled out the broken tabs and just use zip ties to keep it down.

i ended up catching mine in time. just started to crack. i used some gorilla glue. still holding.

i also filed down the barb on the end so they pop out easier.

we know what your going through.

This is what I did last night. I removed the rubber grommets where the headlight cover tabs mount. I installed a 1 1/2" SS bolt(1/4) in its place (installed from below with washers so it sticks up) and used a nut to lock it so it would not spin. I drilled out the broken tabs on the headlight cover and used a washer and lock nut to hold the cover down. Doesn't look too bad and very secure.

hey put a little grease on them and it will pop right off every tiime..

Not when its -30!

I had mine greased but it didn't help. The only way they work properly is when they are warm.

I just bought one off eBay for $41 shipped. It was used but nothing was broken and only a few small scratches on the top.
