In a place where it SNOWS every day
I'm from lower New England and am looking for a place to ride for a week starting next weekend.

I have found most of New England trails are basically closed or not worth riding except for a few local areas. I spoke with a dealer in Northern Maine close to where I was going to stay today. They told me they have rain at 40 degrees with the trails closed until they get colder weather and some snow. The forecast for the upcoming week is cold but no snow. Where do I need to drive to ride?

Please help!!!!

How far north in maine did you check? I ride up in Fort Kent, St. Agatha area and they got 5" yesterday and the trails are prettygood. I was up there last weekend durring all the rain. We still rode and most of the trails were ok but a little icy.

I would say you'de have to be in upper maine to see any white stuff, we're PORKED for now down here!

try the northwestern mountains. Rangeley Trail - Groomed 1/12. Hard pack conditions. Canadian Trail - Groomed 1/12. Hard pack conditions.
Carabasset Trails - Groomed this week. Hard pack conditions. i'm going up there on wednesday

I think it was ether Wednesday or Thursday that brought heavy rain week to all of New England. I believe any new snow last weekend got washed away.

Hopefully someone that is up north this weekend will report some good news...

I am hoping to be wrong about this for everyone’s sake.

we will get 5in+ of snow on monday. my friend just got back from Rangeley riding is good with just a few bad spots

That area had a ton of snow before the last 2/3 rains (January?) If you want to go this coming week then I would go north of the seaway. Start somewhere around Quebec city and go north to Lac St Jean. About the same travel time for me as northen ME. If you do go to northern ME you might find you'll end up going into P.Q. area/ Bas St Laurent to make a week out of it.

My bud called from Quebec city Friday and they have been holed up at the Quebec Inn for 2 days :drink: He said the riding didn't look very good...they were going to trailer up to lac St Jean 8)

Just talked to the President of Team Blue. Located on Cross Lake. He stated that the St John Valley received 5"+. He also mentioned the trails are in pretty good shape. One needs to go above Caribou and Presque Isle for good conditions.

Also keep in mind, the first weekend in Febuary is the 10th annual International Snowmobile Festival. It's a chance to ride in NB for free.

Looks like the beat thing to do is to Stay in Van Buren like we normally do. Stay north and we can always head towards the Gaspee if things get thin.

Thanks everyone!
