please help set up on rx warrior

With sled sitting on the floor take all the slack out of the limiter straps on the skid till they are tight then about a half an inch more on the bolt. If you still have no ski pressure tighten some more.

If after you do this you find it to be to tippy its because the RX's like to have the front low a arms level with the snow. Stiffer sway bar helps for some. If you lift the front of your sled up so the skis are off the floor you then back off the adjusting nuts on the front ski springs till the springs are loose. Tighten one to two turns to take the slack out of the springs. You will now have to repeat the first step.

05 had a 11mm sway bar but 04 and 03 I think where 10mm. If you have lots of body roll add a stiffer bar.

On the transfer rod there are two nylon washers. A 5 mm on top and a 10mm on bottom I had the best ride and handling when I replaced the bottom 10mm with a 5mm.

This site will answer a lot of questions on how to set up the skid for ride, transfer and FRA settings.

For more info start on page 26 and read forward till about page 16 on warrior setups. Many different thought on this.

Matty,
At the top of every page on here is a link:
TYHOME. Once there you see down the left side of the page is a link: Technical Pages, Click on the Snowmobile Tech. link in the center of the page, follow it down to Front Suspensions and Skis, and then to Ski Bumper Shim Install. The idea is that the Yamahas have to much front ski tip pressure, causing them to dart or follow, this shim is used to raise the front of the ski, elminating some of the darting. You can use just about any material that will hold up, I use 1" x 1/4" aluminum bar stock. Bergstroms sells them, but you really don't need to purchase anything, very easy to make.

thanks for the input guys, im not giving up on the sled yet , im going to spend a few hours after work Wednesday and thursday to set this thing up, ill be taking notes and trying to dial this thing in. my hopes are i will be able to see significant improvement.

Do a search all words. Set up Warrior. Start at page 26 and wrok forward in time. Lots of RX setups in there.

get enough ski pressure so it will steer but then it will dart so shim back half of ski leg so it put more pressure on rear of ski,i use signal runners on mine steers excellent and no darting but mines a short track

carbides

I had 6 inch single carbides on my warrior that had no studs. steering was heavy, but always turned well if you left off the throttle entering the corner to take advantage of the engine braking. Had doolys on my rage, steering heavy plus it pushed a lot if the snow was not firm.. real bad when it was mushy out.
