I want thank everyone on this forum for putting together a tremendous resource and wealth of knowledge. I did search the forum and found a lot of info on my issue but I can't seem to figure it out yet. My 09 RTX SE just started giving me the occasional Code 43. It first happened when I first backed my sled out of the trailer. It just stalled/shut off. That was only time it actually shut off. Since then it happened a handful times but it's always during start up, never when runner. When the problems arises it will crank but won't fire (except 1 time it did??) and it flashes the check engine light and code 43. I replaced the fuel pump relay with a solid state red type and still had the issue as soon I tried to start it. Put the old relay back in and it started. Switched back to the red one and it started and worked great for one or 2 rides. It might happen when it's hot, cold, wet, or dry- I can't crack the code. The battery is 1 year old. I checked the wire loom under the dash by the steering column and can't see any evidence of a rub but I did not remove the plastic. I did shake the wires and try to recreate the issue but no luck. It happened yesterday during a break on our ride. Went to start it- check engine light flashing and 43. Unhooked the battery, waited, reconnected- still had the issue. Went into diagnostic mode and it was showing 0 codes even though it was just showing code 43 a minute earlier. Unhooked the battery again and reconnected- still got 43 cranked but would not start. Went back into diagnostic mode and it should up. Cleared the code and it started and ran fine. One of the times I was trying to start it I did hear the clicking (sounded like a relay) during the first few seconds when you turn on the key. I had replaced the starter relay last year because it would occasionally not crank (separate issue). I cleaned and applied grease to the main fuse last week (it was corroded). The only other issue is the thumb warmer switch only works once in a while. I am going to try to replace the starter relay again with a genuine Yamaha part instead of cheap China-made version I used last time but I doubt that's the issue. Any other ideas? Is there is a common grounding junction to check for corrosion? It sure seams like a ground/weak voltage issue. Would anyone recommend changing the other 2 relays up front to the solid state red ones? I know that should be done either way but I am just trying to isolate my issue. I'd really appreciate any insight.
Thanks
Thanks

Think I've seen this before and the problem was the female terminals in the plug that plugs into the starter relay. Specifically one of the red wires.

Thanks so much! That is the first thing I will check. Do you recall if it is a corrosion issue or loose female connection? Thanks again!

NEVER use CCC (Cheap Chinese Crap) starter relays. It destroyed two starters by sticking on. 'Nuff said.
Check the ground wire connector like this one:
Like another one with a Nytro found out, it can work itself loose or corrode.

They r small terminals, I think they become a bit corroded from moisture trapped, then they become weak and don't squeeze the male terminal firmly enoughThanks so much! That is the first thing I will check. Do you recall if it is a corrosion issue or loose female connection? Thanks again!
