Skydog: I had the 15's in mine year before last and they lasted about 3 minutes on the stand. My idle was in the 18's and 19's.
I'm running stock mains, 17.5 pilots @ 2 turns and needles 1 notch rich.
Pa Mts. 2200-3000 Ft elevation around 500 in pitot at 10 lbs and around 400 in pitot jet @ 12 lbs. I change the pitot in increments of 20 depending on weather.
That being said, I still believe that the Bender has a midrange lean spot that will always be there. If I did not have a wideband I would never know its there. The sled runs fine, no visible sign of running lean other than the A/F. Low boost or no boost between 50-70 MPH by A/F fuel will read 15.5-16.2, even one notch rich on the needles.
I spent a full afternoon last year on a 6 mile plowed joint use road reading plugs and they looked fine. At one point I used 2 sets of new plugs and both started to show a little color.
I also think the sled feels better with the needles in stock position when I'm on a section of ungroomed trail where I'm going 5-15 MPH between trees etc.
I do have billet T's, billet carb caps. have tried green springs, two lines from intercooler, and the sled feels great, just the guage shows lean.
I really thing my needles should be in the middle.

Skydog: No, I have the stock springs back in.
But, I think what you are going to discover is that once you put the needles back to stock position, you will rediscover that lean spot you were fighting with.
Then you either have a lean spot or you will be rich at very low speeds. I really did not notice any difference with the green springs on the A/f.
But the sled felt great with the green springs and the needles stock.
As soon as we get some good snow to ride, I'm going to try the green springs and stock needle setting again. Our mountain just had 15-18 inches of snow yesterday, but it is all fluff. No base at all.

the lighter springs like red or silver should get rid of the lean spot as the needles will be higher at the same throttle postion.

Ted: I have a set of silver springs still in the container, do you suggest I put the silver springs with the needles at stock setting?
I just don't care for the needles one notch rich at real slow speeds.

I will go with 17.5 and pilot screws 2.25 turns out as well. I'm running 135 mains, stock springs with needles lowered to the #2 position.
Running the 22.5 pilots do not work in my sled, too much fuel down low. The weaker springs is not working either, too much fuel in the mid section. I'm going stock as well, that's what MCXpress says to run for jetting.
