While doing chain case maintenance I noticed a two prong plug that looks similar to a battery charger quick connect. It wasn't plugged into anything, question is should it be and if not any idea what it's for?

Yes. There is two types of these plugs over in that area along with the other bigger multi wire plugs. One set of these two prong plugs are mated together and the plug I am referring to is just there uncapped and not mated together with anything. Unless at one time it did have a cap and fell off, no big deal I will just tape it up. Just wanted to make sure that it wasn't supposed to be mated to another set of wires.

I think what you are referring to is the SAE connector for the helmet shield heater, if you choose to add one. I think that is what it’s called. There is a post out there concerning that, nice write up with pics, which made my heated shield hookup very easy.
Pretty neat, just plug and play. No more having to bug in to wiring harness for simple heated shield 12vdc hookup.
Not sure if it was capped prior. Will have to take a peek on mine, maybe tomorrow when I pull the sled in to my garage for the start of pre ride maintenance.

That is powered by a 20 amp fuse. It also powers the back up alarm, tail light and the dash pod.
That is what I noticed anyways when I inadvertently blew it last year.
May be more, would have to check the wiring schematic to be sure...
