While riding yesterday I noticed the chain case site window was gone and obviously all the chain oil. Not sure how long it had been missing and didn't drive it any further.
I have no idea how this happened and have not heard of this problem before....has anyone else?

It does make you wonder. The oil reservoir on my 18 RTX 50th Anniversary Sled was put together with black glue (silicone), which of course wouldn't hold a fart in a windstorm. It blew at 400 miles.Do they have frigging kegerators in the break room in TRF?

This is definitely a bad design for sure. What I don't understand is why not just make the chain case cover/oil tank one piece? This would solve the whole issue and I wouldn't be surprised if Yamaha steps in and comes out with an updated one piece cover/tank.It does make you wonder. Better yet- just use a real gasket. Not cheap plastic silicone. That would fix 90% of the issuesThis is definitely a bad design for sure. My worry is, that we keep thinking this is the same Yamaha of old.....Im not so sure it is though. I could be wrong but It almost seems like YAM does very little in sled dept anymore. And so its cat who comes with fix. I hope not.
