Power commander 5 map locked?

I have a guy that sent me a map he got for his power commander 5 and it won't load onto mine. Just wondering if the maps can be locked or if there is another reason why it's not working? Thanks!

Never heard of that. Check the file designation should end with .pvm if not try changing it.

If it's a Nytro PCV instead of a SR Viper PCV (they will both plug into either sled & work), then they won't load correctly.

I believe it's an sr viper pcv. The error message was The device model number does not match the map model number. Device #429 vs. map #285

That's a map from a Fx Nytro Pcv (285) & you have a Sr Viper Pcv (429). Open the map, go in the upper left corner of the map to select the whole map, then right click & copy it, then click get map and go to upper left again, right click & paste it to the map, then send map.
