I ride a 12' Apex and the wife has a 14' Vector. We really like these sleds, but I'm curious in if anyone knows of a way to adjust the amount of power steering effort in the Apex. My power steering works but nothing like the Vector. I know her sled is a bit lighter in the front, but you can literally one hand hers in the tight trails, where my Apex steers with much more effort.
Dealer said that's just the way they are. But being an electronic motor/servo there has to be a way to adjust the amount of steering effort thru the dash panel parameters ..... Anyone crack this code ?

Side Note: Both sleds running same Tuner skis and same amount of carbide.

Track length of each sled? Suspension setting of each sled? The factors will play apart.
Maybe Yamaha set the Apex up to have more "trail"

Thanks for the reply.
Track length is 128" on my Apex, 136" on the Vector. No studs on either. Both are still on factory settings for suspension except for a few clicks softer on the rears on both. We're blessed with perfect trails by us right now and these are set up nice. Very happy with the handling on both. Just seems my power steering ramps off at anything over 10 mph. You can still feel hers working at 30 mph. Night and day difference when jumping between the two.
Just figured there has to be a way to adjust the steering motor/ servo to stay on a bit longer.

The steering actuators are the same part #'s.
Maybe Yammi setup the signals to the units differently.

Thanks, don't suppose anyone knows how to adjust that ?
Dealer gave the usual " not adjustable" when asked. But they didn't seem that interested.....

When I had issues with my power steering, there were no settings that could be adjustable through the dash panel. There was however, a diagnostic mode that you could use to identify an issue "IF" the EPS wasn't working. This does involve opening up a cluster of wires in the nose of the sled though. You can look at this thread to see the method on how to do this here: https://ty4stroke.com/threads/question-about-eps.130621/page-2
I posted a few pages of the service manual there. I don't think there was any way to make corrections to the steering power or sensitivity though.
If your EPS isn't working, an "EPS" will show up your gage.
Your issue is likely to do with the setup of the sled and the Apex design itself. Making adjustments in your suspension will help, as will changing your skis to a more easy steer design like Curve skis.

Some guys grind a bunch of the teeth off the speed sensor. This fools steering control into thinking sled is going slow so getting almost full effect of power steering. Just use gps for Speedo. Steering assist is speed sensitive

Thanks for the replies, and I'll probably play with suspension setup first then. Then maybe skis next, but gotta say I like the Tuners right now. My sled set up is almost perfect for me right now. Just feels like a tank at really slow speeds compared to the wife's Vector.
Thanks again for all input.....
