I just wanted to get peoples feeling about some maintenance for my 2 Apex's. The 11 has 9,000 miles on her, and the 07 has 7,000 miles. I have done nothing in terms of maintenance on these sleds except. Oil changes every year, sometimes twice a year. Clean and grease bearings on left side of sled yearly, and exhaust donuts on the 07. And just the usual stuff like slides and carbides. I do go up in the bush of Quebec yearly for 2 weeks saddlebagging with my 11. Don't want to get left stranded up their. The guys I go up there with think it's crazy that I haven't changed wheels or rebuilt the shocks. I only ride flat groomed trails so how much abuse are the shocks really taking, and nowhere in the manual does it say rebuild the shocks.

Keep doing just like you have been, maybe change the chaincase oil in both and have a good look in there.
Ride on.
They are just getting broke in.

With that many miles I would have the shocks rebuild, have you check the a-arms for play. When was the last time you pulled skids and looked for cracked arms. With 7000 miles on the 07 I would replace the drive shaft.
Forgot to mention. I do change the chaincase oil yearly and snug up the chain tensioner. But thanks for the heads up.trailhed1 said:Keep doing just like you have been, maybe change the chaincase oil in both and have a good look in there.

Thanks, I have thought about the drive shaft on the 07. But does the 11 have a more heavy duty shaft so no need to consider replacing it even though it has more miles? A-Arms are solid. Have not pulled the skid, but look under there regularly and don't see any cracks. Do u have to pull the skid to get a good inspection?APEX 06 said:With that many miles I would have the shocks rebuild, have you check the a-arms for play. Yes 11' has the upgraded shaft. I put 58k km on my 08 Apex LTX never changed driveshaft. Just the bearings. Eventually it will be time for the a-arm bushings, i would go with the OFT ones.

on the 11 check the exup adjustment as others are having problems with it if you have not already.
if the shocks are not fading later in the day, you could leave them alone. I know my 11 was valved soft from the factory and was not soaking up the trail bumps like it should with only 1500km on them at the time. down in muni they where fine.
you might want to pull the chaincase cover and check the bearings as my brother had a cage fall apart on the lower at that milage.
check your track for de-laminating/missing lugs/clips. on my old 05 war I was only getting about 5000km per track. have to replace the track on my apex already as it is coming apart in the center with 2500km on it with no studs in any of them.

Surprised nobody siad to check your idler wheels?
I remove mine every year and re-grease all my bearings in my idlers.
Surprised your's have lasted as long as they have, especially if you have never done them before?
