Or maybe a should say replAcemt parts list, what should I order???

My list so far:
3x Donuts
2x limited straps
2x hyfax sliders
1x belt
Oil & filter

Front end should I change all the ball joints????

What else should I do? Id rather do it now than in season

Thanks, I'm up for sudjestions

Maybe re-pack the grease in the bearings. My drive shaft bearing had some water in it when I did it at the end of last season. Front and maybe even rear suspension bushings if needed and you have the skid out. I know mine are shot in the skid.

I replace my PTO side bearings at least every other year, $50 for the two is cheap insurance for something under such extreme conditions.

Ball joint's would be great but they are way overpriced and don't last long so I have not replaced them.

I would check your A arm bushings if you don't have ulmer's. Just yank forward and back on the a arms and see if they are bad. They are cheap, I replace them at least a couple times a year but should buy ulmer's and be done with it.

Spindle bushing's would go a long way's in tightening the front end up and there are a couple company's making aftermarket one's now

Check your pitman arm bolt, make sure it is not loose and moving around. My MTX was loose and I have herd of others. If you watch it and turn your bars from side to side of the slop in your steering you will see it move if it's loose. If it is, just use red lock tight and crank down on it.

While your doing your donut's should be easy to tell if your header mount is cracked, if you have a stock header I have seen/heard of a few of these. But it breaks all the way off so it's not hard to tell.

That's about all that comes to mind. Then ride the piss out of it, it's a Yamaha it will take it ;)!

Go to your dealer, look at the new sleds in the showroom, drool, buy parts for your sled. Go home do pre-season maintenance and wait for snow. Visit dealer on almost a daily basis, drool over new sleds, trade yours on a new model, wait for snow,LOL

Seriously, you have things that come to mind taken care of! One more thing I would do is change out the chain case oil.

Just a tip, I was recommended to change the oil in the spring so it doesn't sit all winter with used oil in it. Supposedly there are acids formed in used motor oil that are bad for aluminum when it sits! Who knows maybe its a load of crap but I did it!

Check your air cleaner, track tension and grease up the skid while your at it! Dam i cant wait until snow!

Yeah, I know but who wants to work on the sleds in May.

I do...it avoids working in a cold garage. Heh heh heh

Plus, you just never know when that first dumping of snow will surprise you and you can't go out because you're sled isn't ready.

I like to change the chain case oil as well.
The best way to do it is to pull the cover and spray it out real good with brake parts cleaner. Also while it's apart it's easy to inspect the parts inside for wear. ;)!
