Here is my plain for preventive maintence for my 2006 attak.
Exhaust donuts and new y-pipes
There is 1/4 of play in handle bars may need new mounts.
Need to check play in front a-arms.
shocks have have been rebuilt
Rear suspension may get beefup kit
I would like to change all drive bearings the speedo bearing was replaced last year. I have been reading up on diassembly I see that I have not read of any chain case bearing failure just on the clutch side. Do the chain case bearings need to be changed out frequently or not?
I was going have a dealer do all the bearing replacing, but I did the all my work on my polaris I can do this. If I have missed something tell me.

I've done mine. Good idea with a track change. My theory is that those bearings hold up well but can't last forever. Everything's coming out to put track in and it's only a few bucks. Be sure to change the shaft O rings and rear cover seals while your at it!

On the bold, what exactly are those and where?

Look at a microfiche parts explosion of the chaincase. There are O rings on both shafts and seals on the engine-side chain case housing.
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx Look up '06 Attak Track drive 2.
Pay close attention to the FWD arrow as the orientation seems kinda backwards.

Thanks, I just realized it is an Attack your talking about, would it be the same on an 08 Vector?

Sure is, The part labels are pretty self explanatory. O-rings are #s 11 and 13.
Just put in your sled info for parts blow-up.
This diagram can also be printed out for assembly instructions. Again be careful with Diagram orientation.
