Primary clutch ?...handlebar vibration

I seem to have recently gotten a handlebar vibration on my Apex Mountain. After closer inspection of the primary clutch I noticed this. Seems like the right side (in the red box) has a little chip to it. Would this cause my bad vibration? I mean I rode like ~4 miles and my hands just tingled.

That doesn't look good. Appears to be thinning from to much friction and heat from the belt.
I'm not an expert but allot of clutch guru's on here can better help you.
I would really be concerned about why this happened.

It doesn't looked to be thinned, it looks more like a chip out of it. Called a stopper on parts breakdown. 8V0-17639-00-00 is the piece we are looking at.

Also you can run it on stand and check if your track and wheels are running smoothe under there.

Also, if after removing the drivebelt and revving the engine, you might eliminate the drivetrain. Just don't rev it up too much or harshly.

Mine has something similar but it looks like its a hole where the key goes in the crank. Take a closer look at it and post a better picture.

What you have in the PIC is most-likely NOT causing your vibration.

Does the vibration occur most at a certain speed or a certain RPM? In other words does a change Engine RPM affect the vibration or does a change of speed affect vibration?

I would look at the drive belt closely. If O.K., ...

Then, I would start looking at the bearings (i.e. Drive Shaft PTO side, jack-shaft PTO side, Chain-case oil level and if low bearings, and then rear suspension wheel bearings and wheel ODs.

If all is O.K., then inspect the drivers on the track. I'll assume you have the proper tension.

are you talking about rattling or a feeling? I went round with rattle that was caused by bushings, ofcourse noone had ever heard of it at the time

yea it is the gap between them, but the right side goes up straight then curves like a chip is gone, that was a cell phone pic as I don't have my carmera with me right now

It still vibrates some at idle but I believe this is normal, I think it may have been ice buildup between track and tunnel, it's been thawing all day and I have yet to ride it again, this morning was the first time I've rode it where it sat outside ALL night and didnt thaw

Engine RPM did not affect it, I'm thinking that my pic wont affect it either

it's a full blown feeling, my hands were tingling to the point of being numb, didn't notice it until half way through my ride, my guess is ice, it's been thawing all day and i have yet to ride it again

Well rode it 9 miles back home, not taking it easy or anything, still noticed a little vibration but I don't think it was as bad. Also I noticed vibration in my feet. Sled has 1350 miles on it. Not sure if the vibration has always been there or not. Might just be now that I'm actually feeling for it and not just goin out and riding, is there always a little vibration in this sled?

Primary was cool enough to touch when I got home. Put a different belt on before I rode it. Gonna check the belt out in the morning for marks or anything, and I'll take better pics of what I posted earlier.

Check the track clips and the rail tips to see if they are loose and flopping around. It initially sounded like a build up of ice but if you still have the vib. my guess is either your track is causing it or bearing in the drivetrain i.e. jackshaft/ chaincase.

Will do that, gonna pull it in and check it over really good in the morning. Gonna look over my belt really close too, to see if there is any marks on that at all.

Is the vibration you feel in the feet on the PTO or Mag Side? When ever I was loosing a Drive Shaft PTO side bearing, I could feel it in the left foot first. If you feel it more in the Right foot, maybe you got something going on in the chain-case. Did you take a look at the oil in the chain-case or remove the cover from the PTO side Drive Shaft Bearing and take a look at it?

Have not checked these yet. I could feel what seemed to me as an even vibration in both feet, and also in my hands on the way home.

This is a close up of piece in question. Right side looks slightly chipped to me. Also I checked the rubber things at the tips of the rails and they are loose enough to move around. Could this cause vibration?

Also belt looked fine after close inspection this morning.

Also is a vibration in the handlebars normal until you get movin? I'm guessing yes, that its just the nature of the beast.
