Primary clutch noise

Are there supposed to be O-rings @ the pivot pt of you primary clutch arms. It seems to be quite loud and rattley while @ idle. I looked @ the arms and they slide very easily (sloppy) on the rod that holds that hold the (3) arms to the primary. Other than the noise i absolutely love this sled! My 05 Warrior doesn't make any where the noise (rattle) that my FX Nytro does? Any suggestions? Or should i not worry about it? :dunno:

I have the same noise. I hope they come out with a kit to fix this. They had a kit for my 05' vecter and it worked great after I put it in. You don't have to worry about it though its just loud.

I agree its just loud and little annoying. I don't like squeeks or rattles in my vehicles, so this just annoys me to no end. As for the performance of the sled, you all know it is awesome!!! What was the kit they offered for the Vector? Is it o-rings?

Totally 100% natural & won,t hurt a thing. My turbo rX-1 was worse. The nytro clutch even gets way noisier when u install aftermarket weights.

not to worry

Nothing to worry about. Factory Yamaha had us remove O rings
from our sleds on last years race. There was a slight chance that
the O rings would actually cause some friction or sticking. So we
removed them, put up with the noise won't hurt a thing. But it makes
you wonder why they build such a nice sled with great engineering
and why can't they make a clutch that is quiet like everyone else has
for the last 50 years????

If I have to make a guess. Yam has had this system a LONG time.. Maybee because they are waiting to release something NEW... Totally different when the market is ready??

no other makes have had a three cylinder four stroke to try their clutches on. also it is the sliding arms not the weight arms that are making all the racket. install a yamaha damper kit part # 8es-slidr-kt-00 and the noise will be gone.
