Primary clutch spring damage.

so ...it would be good to know who is stock clutching....stock boost...spring issue

and modded clutching...spring issue with or without more boost!

stock SWs are breaking springs....its just a matter of how many miles or how hard its rode, from the feedback im hearing.

Guys who swapped to Lonns kit, or swapped in a shorter primary spring have been fine....

glide washers are needed IMO

My dealer told me today the primary springs are fine they have had no problems but I've went through two in 800 miles!. Now they tell me it's not covered under warranty

This may be a dumb question, but my primary spring is damaged and I don't have time to mess with it and get a kit put in before a ride next weekend. I have a spare spring laying around from my Apex, it is the stock spring that was in that clutch. (2009 Apex LTX GT) If the one breaks in my sidewinder can I swap that old Apex spring in there and limp the sled the rest of the trip? Or at least back to the cabin?

Yes it should work for you in a pinch.
You should still be able to ride with your broken spring. I barely noticed when my spring broke. I thought it was the sticky snow conditions causing my minor lack in performance and overall shift RPM.

I guess it would depend on where the springs breaks if still Rideable

It better damn well be covered under warranty!
I had argument with owner of dealership and they told me no warranty. And I refused too pay for it. So they took it out of my bag. Do what will happen when the spring breaks? Mine are binding bad loosing paint on all sides so it will break eventually. Wondering if it will hurt clutch ?belt?

Oh, I thought yours broke!

They will break and I would rather not have too deal with that while up north sledding. Bought a yamaha so it would be reliable and be quality built. And these sidewinder are no improved then a arctic scrap!. Engine is incredible but chassis and clutches need much improving too live upto the yamaha name

I've heard of many breaking! Has anyone else had their dealer refuse to warranty springs?
