Anybody have small grooves in primary clutch sheeves? I have 3900 miles on 09 XTX. Always used 8DN belt. Dealer said this is caused by running excessive constant speed and suggested using softer 8CH belt. Can sheeves be machined to illiminate grooves? I know that sheeves can be replaced with OEM.

The grooves will be found on every yamaha sled running stock belt. Mine were there after first 140 mile ride. Yet to see a Yamaha sled without any primary grooves.

I have this problem as well seems to be from my searching that the stock 8dn belt is very hard. Guess thats why they last so long.

Yes they can be machined very easy. Have done it a few times.
