I have a 2008 yamaha rs vector lxt gt and I heard there were problems with the shock adjustment cable breaking and I was wondering if this was a real problem or if it was just a problem on his sled!

Mine broke too, I know another guy here that had the same problem. From what I understand ice builds up on the cable and pulls it, Yamaha replaced mine with an updated part #, check to see if they will replace yours.

I had the same problem. It was repaired under warranty and they have updated the parts. It's a known issue. Do a search and you'll see others with the problem. If you set it and leave it, you don't need the cable.

I don't believe it is really a problem on the Vectors as much as it is on the Apex's with Ohlins shox? (Could be wrong so don't take my word for it though)

I have only had mine 3 seasons now and so far so good, but it hasn't been ridden in an abudance of snow either!

My cable was good but the adjuster on the shock was a little seized up. I had to unscrew the cable from the shock and with a bent nail ground to a square tapered point, I turned the adjuster screw until it worked itself loose. Lubed it with silicone spray, put it back together and all is good. I'll have to try it out in the cold to see if it holds up.
