I use a manual HBC on my Apex, but leave it at one setting and don't change it.
Done more with the ProLogger on race machines since this thread last January, works well for stepping the boost in for traction control, etc which the manual's can't.

If one has all the settings right (boost gain, overshoot gain, gate pressure) the ebc feature of the prologger works good. Seems like getting these settings correct is very sled specific and isn't universal so you have to understand what each feature does to figure out how to tune the ebc to your sled. I wouldn't personally get the prologger just to have a ebc. The main reason I use it is for logging features. If I didn't use it so much for logging I would just use a mbc and not have the prologger altogether.
