My 05 RX1 Warrior manual recommends 5W30 weight oil, My local Yamaha shop does'nt have 5W30 and says 0W30 is fine. Seems awful thin. What do you guys run with? Most of my riding is in the midwest.

0w-30 will be thinner at startup and will flow up to the valvetrain quicker. This should result in less startup wear.

I run Mobile 1 5-30 full synthetic. Never had a problem and seems to run better and starts easier on extra cold mornings..

The manual for the 05 Warrior calls for SAE 0W-30

5w-30 or 0w-30 will work just fine. I would think that your sled would start a little bit easier with 0w-30 because at startup its a slightly thinner oil.
I would stick with the better, name brand synthetic oils. If you dont want to run Yamalube you would probably be fine with Mobil 1 or Amsoil.
Personally, I would stick with Yamalube because the way I see it that engine was designed and tested with that oil, so it should be a pretty decent oil. Also, if Yamaha is willing to put their name on it, it cant be all that bad of an oil.

For my last oil change before I but the sled to bed for the summer, I switched over to Mobil 1 0W 40 full synthetic.
