I have never been in a predicament that I "HAD" to use the pull start rope, but I have done so to practice, just in case.
Try parking on a slope with the grizz pointing downhill. Shift into High and then pull. That makes it very easy. It doesn't have to be real steep.
If you ever really "NEED" it when its cold, you could just put it in neutral and push it to a slope.
The Grizz can be pulled by another ATV and started in this same way, (yes I have practiced that also, I beleive in being prepared).

why would you even need to pull start it its a YAMAHA GRIZZLY!!

Same goes for the Kodiak/Grizzly 450.... Not easy to pull at all...

Hey y'all,
great tips and will try it out today. I've got a bandaged-up strained arm from not doing this right last weekend. Just got my Grizz three weeks ago and trying to get familiar with it.
