QC-1 ok for Canada trails??

I'll have to put my stock can on, shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes. I was really starting to like my exhaust

Prairie...you are 100% correct, there are lots of people who we check, who as they pull away we say...those are stingers.....but drive away civilized...and we ignore....then there are the ones who wail towards us or away as agressively as they can, making as much noise as they can, maybe obeying the speed limit...they get tagged. Also the ones we hear coming for 10 minutes....one guy last week we listened to for 10-15 minutes terrorizing the town...I went and found him...he was twice prohibited from driving, had no insurance, etc, and will likely do a small amount of time....I told him if it wasn't for his pipes...we wouldn't be dealing with him.
There is no question atleast where I am, if you drive sensibly, your pipes will go unnoticed...can't speak for Quebec though.

Another point....most people who are not very familiar with our 4 strokes, wouldn't be able to tell if the pipe was changed, since the changes are under the seat...even taking a picture wouldn't be much proof...if a guy was to switch back to stock later.

Now if you had just said this from the beginning I would never have suggested you relax. You made it seem as though the trail police are out there hunting for anything aftermarket regardless of how loud it is...

I am completely in favor of the way you are interpreting this law, and it needs to be done.

Regardless of laws and being involved with trying to keep trails open loud exhausts will help kill the sport. Don't care about loud bikes, cars etc as we all know they tend to get away with more (most times). The general public isn't interested in listening to loud machines and they quickly dislike sleds and many land owners won't allow trails through their property. Some have reasons other than noise but the noise aspect is huge. At the moment in our area some land owner agreements have time restrictions on when sleds can traverse on the property due to noise. Also lakeside residents are starting to cry as many sleds will ride the lakes for hours on end day and night with loud pipes. We all now how sound carries across a frozen lake on a cold night. Make noise if you want but we will all suffer the consequences.

Yes I agree noise is the enemy not the people who enforce the noise laws. Where will it end though? If we do not get organised as a whole so we carry a voice we will always be an easy target for tree huggers and the like.

Rick is right-on about the noise and the damage it causes to our sport ,but what this about modifiyng the sled to go faster ,i put a rear mount turbo on mine ,it was way to loud so i built a silencer for it ,looks great and its no louder than stock...Rick, would you fine me even though i had gone to great lengths to keep my machine quiet.

That was a quebec law...I posted it for the guy asking about going to Quebec.....its not here in Ontario....and the machine I patrol on has a Bender turbo.....
