We rode with our neighbor Steve with his M1000 Arctic Cat. We just rode from Cle Elum up the groomed road twards Taneum. The roads were super icey so deploying our scratchers was a must! Also getting up to higher elevations was important as well.
This was our first stop. There was a few inches of newer snow, but nothing to write home about.
We rode for 30+ miles to get to the highest altitude we could, which would be our best snow we hoped! I knew of a hidden meadow from dirt biking this area in the summer, so we broke trail in an attempt to find it. Lindsey was getting frustrated, she feels as though her Phazer is "tipsy". So due to some off camber trail riding she stopped and was starting to turn around when I came back looking for her.
Steve and I convinced her to go a bit further and our gamble paid off!! Because I soon caught her having too much fun in our secret untouched meadow!!
I wont deny that I love this stuff too!
We headed out after a while of playing and found a couple of cool old mining cabins.
At the end of the road was Quartz Mountain, our final destination. I screamed up the hill on my Apex, cutting off the road, and making it to the summit of Quartz. Great picture with Mt. Rainier in the background.
As we headed for home I hit a striaght stretch of road and punched it. I glanced down for a brief moment and saw I was doing 84!!!! Thats the fastest Ive ever been on a sled! Man I love my Apex!
Well Steve did just the same behind me but when I stopped, uh oh, the M1000 died and wouldnt restart? We changed the plugs as it was prone to fouling them, but no go. We discovered there was no spark? Sooo, the Ol' Apex towed him back the last 10 miles! Piece of cake for the old Boy!
It was a great days ride, and perhaps the best ride Lindseys had on her Phazer to date.
