First of what is sure to be a long line of stupid questions on this new-to-me machine....

This has the older MCX 240kit and updated to the larger pump and different programming so it is supposedly OK to 270hp. As I understand it, MCX usually doesn't use a manual controller. What I need to know is:
a)what kind of controller is it?
b) if sayyyy your buddy wound the heck out of the knob and now you have no idea where you are for boost, how is the best way to find out where you are at. IE: what is the range of adjustment? All the way in is xx lbs, all the way out is xx lbs? There is no "click" or detents...just a smooth turning action on this controller.
c) The previous owner ran straight LL100 (AV gas) at home (3000 feet elev) and 50/50 LL100/Prem91 at elevation (6000-7000') at 17 lbs boost. I was told by fellow MCX riders that this kit is designed by MCX to be safe at elevation with 91 octane only. Is this right?

A. It looks like the Hallman boostcontroler

B. The controler came with two different springs. Soft soring can adjust up 5psi from wastgate settings. Hard spring is do adjust from wastegate settings and over +5 psi

C. Mcx 240hp kits if installed with their headshim are setup to run with 98 octane RON / 90 octane PON @ sealevel.

Thanks for the reply.

I did some Googling...looks like the controller is a Hallman knockoff by Blok. So if I wind the thing all the way in (lowest boost) where would I likely be?

The motor does have the head shim. What boost levels are generally associated with 240 hp vs 270 hp?

The previous owner said he ran 12 lbs boost at home on the trails and 17 lbs in the mountains.
