Anyone add 9T extroverts on their Proactive - 07/08 RTX, 06/07 Nytro or 05 Vector?

I am considering adding them to reduce ratcheting and would like to know if there is enough clearance to the rail tips? Any rail mods necessary, or is it all good?

I read in various other posts regarding the 10T drivers and clearance issues, but nothing about using the standard #9 Tooth ones...

Thanks,
Greg

My '06 Nytro has the Proactive skid as you have referenced. The stock drivers are 9T. I switched over to the Ski-Doo 9T intro/extro drivers. Simply press the old drivers off, and press the new drivers on. No mods were needed for the drivers, shaft, or the skid. Easy change!

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply.

I assume that our skids use the same Doo P/N's that others have posted on this site?

God, I hated to admit I was going to have to bite the bullet for the time and money to do this project, but I love this damn thing and it was junk the way it was. I did it, and it flat works great. Still not happy with the suspension, but at least I can run it without the friggen ratcheting. Got rid of the POS Ripsaw while I was at it. Went with a Cobra. I've driven it 20 miles or so around home, lots of traction, but the real test will be this weekend. That'll give it a chance to stretch it's legs a little. Looking forward to it.

Edit: forgot to mention, Tracksusa cut me a little break on the track when purchasing it with a pair of the Doo extroverts.

How tight are you running the track with stock drivers for it to ratchet that much? I'm considering going to the Proactive skid and need to know if it's critical to run extrovert dirivers.. Need advice..

I would never encourage anyone to install a Proactive under anything. It's tough enough dealing with one you've been dealt. That suspension has to be the worst example of existing technology in snowmobiling still on the market today - and I'm being kind. Rough trails my a$$.........

The following weekend after that note the sled had the different suspension under it - and I now have the sled I thought I was getting when I bought the RTX to start with.

I have a clue when it comes to setting up a suspension, and gave that suspension an honest to God chance, doing everything under the sun to make it work in stock form (along with hours and hours of research). When it came time to start spending money on it (LOTS of money) to do it right, I opted out, going with what I knew would work rather than reinventing the wheel for the same expense (or less!).

When you get past the problem of the ratcheting, you still have major issues regarding that rocker link between the front and rear shocks. It not only has problems standing up to any kind of abuse, it also makes shock calibration near impossible. Then there are the problems regarding cracked rails, broken limiter straps, and on and on. None of those apparent with over 3000 miles of HARD use on this Poo suspension.....

Feel free to PM for more detail - FWIW/My experience
