Question for ex-Apex owners who are now new Viper owners

Bought an 06 Apex new and loved it (Actually kept it)

In 2010 added a Nytro Rtx se to the garage. Rode it 2 years and had it working amazing. Top speed was an issue way up north.

Decided to sell the Nytro exactly a year ago due to the fact it was worth more than my 06 Apex.

The Eps Apex wasn't enough of a visual change to warrant the price tag.

Almost bought a Turbo cat because I thought they looked awesome and for $1000 you could make them 250hp. After reading that the 2013 cats were still having issues, I abandoned ship on that idea.

Decided to ride the 06 Apex all last winter and wait.

Then the Yammicat was announced.

No brainer for me.

Ordered the sled, tossed a Mcx 190 on there and super happy so far!

In hindsight maybe didn't need the turbo since some are seeing 110 on the speedo with some clutching but sure puts a smile on my face.

I still ride my 06 from time to time for comparison. 4 banger is one awesome motor, but even with my $1000 hygear rear shock, Viper handles so much better and less movement transferred to the rider.

Go for it

I know there have been some posts about knees and panels. This was one of the many reasons I went from the Apex to the Viper. My right knee is garbage. On the apex, it would bang into the sharp corners for the opening of the reverse lever. There was more than one night I had to sleep with ice packs wrapped in towels duct taped to my knee.

With the viper, when you are forced into the panels, they are shaped so well that all it does is force your knees outward. I honestly thought one of my first purchases for this thing would be the knee pads. After riding it for a while I realized I dont even really need them!
