All along I was using the silver spring in my secondary set at 3-3 (60 deg)…The other day I decided to try out the Gates Extreme….I disassembled the clutches…cleaned and set the twist angle to 6-2 (80deg)….I really only did that to make sure there would be no belt slip with the new belt during break-in…To my amazement the sled seems to have way more acceleration, top end about the same… …just to be sure it was not the belt making this change, I set the secondary back to the 3-3…..For sure not as much grab and the RPM would go to about 9500 and slowly climb….VS….10000 and climb @80 deg setting. My question is: if I go to an even steeper twist angle….will it slow the high end acceleration or will it even reduce my top end speed!!! Problem is it takes me about 40 minutes to get to a smooth enough lake to test on…It’s a real pain ( to darn cold to work outside)……Thanks JD
The RX-1 is a different animal & it needs a lot of secondary pressure.Myself included & lots of RX-1 owners run the silver at 80 degree twist.

I am running stock weights with the heavier rivets...( I removed the one with the hole and put in a solid)...I am also running the silver secondary spring with stock helix and I dropped down 1 tooth on the top gear.....JD
