Quick drag n fly question

After answering numerous pm,s on the subject may people have throttle response confused with acceleration. A clutch set up that has super quick backshift & real fast feeling acceleration is slow. For best aceleration you want the tach & speedo to climb in unison. It will feel doggy & slow but in an actual drag race your gonna be very very fast. A quick feeling zippy sled will get it,s azz kicked by the latter.

Turk I appreciate your help and don't take this the wrong way but I don't drag race, I am an aggressive trail rider! When I come out of a corner I like to be able to squeeze the trigger and go! When trail riding I like the back shift so I can lift the front end off a rise in the trail, with the fast set up I cannot do this. Stock clutching had awesome back shift so I was looking for the same with a better midrange in a clutch kit, I thought the drag n fly was supposed to do this? I thought the kit would give me more snap from bottom to mid and still be fast on top! I don't want it to be fast, it already was fast, I want it to be more responsive than it was, so far I haven't been able to do this, it is close now but not there. I will continue to adjust and play but I suspect I will end up with the stock clutching once again.

OK i went also to 3 shoulder and 2 center and back to stock secondary.I find it just wont pull rpm's.When i get into powder off the trail it just lacks power, even people have said the sled didnt sound right.

So back to 4 washers,1 lock washer,1 bolt - shoulder
2 washers in center

Change secondary back to 2inside-3outside

Now another question is the holes in the secondary inside aren't marked which is 2.I presume it was the stock setting when i opened it up.

What about gear change for bigger tracks, wont that help us out.

You can have awesome backshift and awesome acceleration.......TEAM Tied clutch, backshifts like a mofo and smokes the stock clutching in a drag.

In a drag yes but we are looking for aggressive trail and backcountry powder riding. This kit i find works well, its just the powder it lacks. It seems it wont pull when in some powder.

I think that is what we are after here....i am going to switch gears and see if that helps.

Yes, the team clutching backshifts like crazy...........meaning my rpms are always where I need them. Yesterday we broke trail in 12"+ of wet heavy snow. I was pulling 8650-8700 rpms, on hardpack with this setup I see 8900. Pretty good if you ask me ! Stock clutching would of been wayyyyyy down. The team backshifts way better and accelerates way better than the stock setup.

Can you explain how you can get both race type acceleration & deep snow backshift at the same time??? It,s impossible no matter what your running & 12" of wet snow is not a good enuff test for backshift capabilities as even stock weights might drop 2-300 rpm,s in those conditions.. Try 3' of deep fresh powder & get back to me.

Maybe the acceleration comes from the slp mtx weights or maybe its just magic??? Ive tried all the heelclicker stuff with every setup on this forum and always ended back up with stock clutching because its not so finicky and doesnt require popeye arms or special tools to install springs. The team spring is easy to compress. The team setup cruises on average at 300-400 rpm lower than stock and has never seen less than 8600 rpms wether its wet snow or busting huge drifts or fresh snow. The nytro I rode with yesterday is the same nytro Im always with and his runs 9100 on hardpack just like mine does with the stock clutching and he was barely seeing 8500 rpms yesterday. These two sleds run so close to eachother in a race its silly. I installed the team setup and suddenly I'm pulling lenghts on him????? So yeahhhh, it backshifts awesome and accelerates too.

After talking to the tech guys at super torquer this morning I hope I am set up a little better. I went back to the 5 in the shoulder 2 in the center and bolt in overdrive, he also suggested I tighten my secondary spring, which I did. Will test it out and post back.

Which primary spring, Red or Black ?

I set my secondary to 2inside and 3outside and it's very aggresive out of the hole.Pulls the skis right up and holds them up along way....try your adjusting your secondary
Just curious, what was your secondary set at in stock settings? Mine was 1 inside 6 outside, is this right?
