quick question on ignition coils

just crossed over to the 4 stroke side, my 2003 rx1 runs really good with no issue but today while changing the plugs I noticed that the coils just sit on top of the plugs without any spring locking onto the plugs...is this right or i'm I missing something????

Not sure what you mean by spring locking on the plugs. They fit pretty firmly in the spark plug holes, there is little ridges in the tip of the coil that make contact with the spark plug. As long as the coil is not loose in the hole, and the sled is running good your fine, Might want to search on the cleaning procedure.

i use a soft-faced hammer and just give them a little tap.
