I could only find posts regarding fouling plugs, which the conditions are a bit different. Here is the problem. I have an 05 RS Vector with 1,800 miles. The sled is always fully warmed up to operating temperature whenever it is started. When first taking off it wants to stall. It may hesitate or stall once, then take off. The machine is running on 3 cylinders, and running fine. After 1-15 miles, it will drop to only 2 cylinders firing. I took the carbs off 2x now and thoroughly cleaned them, the last time I replaced the "o" rings at the base of the main jets that seal to the bottom of the float bowls. Plugs were already changed prior to the start of the season. The first time this happened I pulled the plugs and found one looking totally new except soaked with gas. I took all the coils inside and had them warm to room temperature and used an OHM meter to verify they are all within MFR specs. I am at a loss why this is happening. If it was a 2 stroke I could use a timing light to see which is not firing, swap coils to see if the problem moves or if it stays - maybe something with the carbs. I only get random weekends to ride since the machine is 200 miles from home.
The #3 cylinder seems to be the problem. I swapped the coils from 1 to 3 and the problem remained. I also replaced the plug with another new one. Unplugging the coil did not change engine sound after engine runs bad. After the machine cools off for a while, it will start and run normal for a short while.

problem resolved

The problem was flooding during rapid deacceleration. This was caused by the float being out of spec.and needed adjustment. Check the float heights - 16mm for mine with the carb inverted, main jet pointing to 2the o'clock. Works awesome now...too bad the snow melted Monday.

Thanks for reporting back the results.
Good luck & have a good safe riding season.
