Hey guys... I've searched... but no luck. I'm looking for some pics of rail mounted ices scratchers. I picked up a set on the weekend, and can't seem to find a suitable place to mount them. I'd like to mount as far forward as possible on the rails, but want to put in the right spot.... so guys that have them any way to post up some pics, or idea's??
thanks in advance

What type or kind of scratchers did you get? That info will help with suggestions.

If you are using Side Kicks (the cable type) that is what I have and am pleased so far. They make a big difference on hy-fax wear 3-4 times longer than without them. On my Nytro, I drilled a hole and mounted just behind the curve on the rail. When I put them on my Apex I put them on the lower inside of the A-arms so the snow would be kicked up sooner, on all of the rail instead of just the back 2/3rd of it. I like that better and have had no problems with them up there. Also the guys I ride with like the location on the A-arms better. Not as much snow and ice chips being thrown up at them when they are following. I get alot of complaints from the ones on the Nytro that are mounted on the sides. Hope this helps.

I'm just wanting to add them as far forward as posible, but seems wheels need to come off first. or completely... not interested in removing more wheels...

I tried a set like that first, they didn't last 10 minutes, I forgot about them and got in a spot I had to back-up and they were trash. Thats when I went to the side kicks and have them on for 3 year and no problems. Hope you have better luck with that type than I did.

Did you mount one or two on your sled? I've read somewhere that if you mounted one on the left-hand side of the sled it will unscrew and come off. What did you do to stop that from happening?

I've seen 2 sets of the rail type broke by going to back up with them down. They do work good but I'm going to try the sidekicks on the a arms.Agman 57 said:I tried a set like that first, they didn't last 10 minutes, I forgot about them and got in a spot I had to back-up and they were trash. When you get them mounted on the A arms can you post a picture of that? I'd like to see how that works.. Where do you hook them up when you're not using them?

A buddy of mine mounted his to the side rail (running board) and he ended up with a bunch of cracks migrating out from the 4 attachment screws. I attached a picture………sorry it is not very good taken a while back with my phone. Not sure the best place to mount them but I am certain this is the wrong place after seeing his running boards crack. I went with Hartman’s ski mounted ones and attached them directly to the (pilot) ski spindle bolt. Pull up and clip over ski rail when not in use......
