Rding with another apex mtn this weekend and the rider told me he bit it at about 35mph. Went over the bars as the sled went from 35 to 0
. He had stated it was his rail tips that had gone bad and poked the track like a piece of cheese. Any idea what would cause the rail tips to..i guess...fall off or wear off? Track tension? Low snow conditions over the years etc. Is this normal? How do you know when its time to change them.

I would say the small rivets that hold the plastic end on came loose then by moving they wore out causing them to fall off. Ive seen mine a little loose before i re riveted them.

OK yeah I wasnt sure what was holding them on didn't take a look yet but I will for sure now
I think a lot of the wear is from the drivers "holding " the track too long and the first spot to wear is the rail tips, I replaced mine, and did them again when I did the Avids, and since then I have seen no scratches on the rail tips
