RAM AIR KIT

Ram air is going to work somewhat. Lets say you take off WOT with the regular air box you end up with a slight vacuum in the air box due to inherent restrictions like the shape of the air box inlet size and air going through the filter. Now if ram air can and it could just cause a very slight over pressure in the air box to negate the vacuum then the sled is going to perfrom just a liittle bit better no doubt it has too! Now how much better and is it worth it is the question? If you are looking for a slight HP gain and more responsive engine add also a little better fuel economy go for it, it is going to help a little for sure. If ram did not work you would not see them on the Indy cars either. Using ram air to feed a turbo intake would make perfect sense too me as long as it can over feed what the turbo wants to take it will work.

I would think that the K & N filters would work just as good - maby better -more air is more air and more rpm = more hp meaning you need to jet up - efi takes care of that. seems like a no brainer - so i guess youd have to cut a bunch of holes in the lid or run a custom lid of some sort to run K&N's. HMMM

I think everyones getting hung up on the term " RAM AIR ". If the stock air box is as restrictive as any yami air box, allowing more air in can only help. An engine is nothing more then an air pump the more air that goes in, and out the more power it will make. Thats way we go with less restrictive exhausts systems and BIG carbs. To move more air in and out.
