If ram air makes 8-10 hp on the bike. What gain could we expect on our sleds? I've thinking of k&n's with aluminum shrowd that would seal against the hood and take in air from the front hood vent. Does anyone think it would work?

It would work if you stayed out of the snow. I had to tape off my front louvers because they filled with snow when it got real deep.

1xr your idea is good but you would have to fully seal the shroud so it could preassurize the entire volume thus giving you the vacum you need. What I have done is to remove that metal plate that resides in the very front of the sled, than at the cross member that holds the support for the hood I affixed two vacum tubes about 1 inch in diameter side by side and ran them from there in through the bulk head and had them lay to rest on top of the black box right below were the bottom snorkel is from the airbox.I also had to cut the point out of my front bumper so the air induction tubes would have a straight shot.Last year I had just modified my tool box by cutting holes in it ,this year it will get even more air so I can possibly go up from the stock jetting.By the way RAM AIR does work if it didn't no racer in the world would use it or factory team.
