I have a rattle near my header ona 08 Nytro. It has 4100 miles on it. Is this the famous donuts going bad? I can seem the clamps vibrating a little from underneath. Also, can I ride sled for rest of season or will it damage it to the point of more damage?

4100 is good for a set of donuts. Time to replace.

Heck 3 of the 4 of mine were gone, i mean nothing there. the clamps were all upside down when I took the heat shield off, and I thought now how am I going to get at those. took 1 finger and rotated them up, and took them off. It did rattle for the last 1000 miles LOL

Nothing will fatigue from running them one more time? I definitely don't want to damage anything more. Is there a permanent solution or is this going to be a general maintennance item on the Nytro? Looks like it will be a fall project. One more opinion on running them the rest of the year would be appreciated.

I have had 2 nytro blow the donuts and ran hundreds of miles not knowing they are even gone.... rattle like a mother until they are fixed.

I agree. Just wondering if their was any aftermarket fixes for the problem. Oh well. It gives me an excuse to work in the garage for the day.

You can make it a day if you want but really its only 10 bolts and one beer job.

Noticed the rattle the first day of a backpack trip. The last day 900 miles later and 30 miles from home sled got very loud. Ended up with one of the flexible head pipes broken. If I would have replaced the donuts when I first noticed the rattle the head pipe prabably would not have broke.
