Im 66. Lol haven't grown up yet. My brother rides my Apex. I would never take out my Apex in favour of my Winder
'm. 77Agreed.
I think ALL the 800 class sleds are fast. Just not Sidewinder fast.
Me & bud were just talking how often we can keep the throttle pinned on trails that we ride 99% of the time. Not often; SAFELY!
One nasty bump at 100 & you could be off the sled as i witnessed this year. The guy broke 7 ribs, scapula & punctured lung & he was only going 60ish.
I guess i'm speaking REALITY.
Remove the emotions, remove the fact you have a "Yellow Hornet" tattooed on your left buttocks & realize the 'Winder is top speed king.
That doesn't make it better or even "faster".
Hell i can admit that DOO may be my next purchase.
Hell i can admit the flaws in my 'Winder & the ones in my 19,000 mile Apex.
I'll be 53 on my next sled. Eventually i have to grow up.
I'll be looking at this 900T rear suspension, the belt life & gas mileage when off the throttle.

I’m 72 and FINALLY grew up to a point this year. Found my #*$&@ in 4 feet of powder after ripping a twisty on my 2012 Apex xtx nothing hurt but my pride lucky me landed between trees very lucky me!!! I decided I don’t need the fastest speed king sled on the market rather have a snappy light reliable 4s with a cushy ride. Hello 2019 900t Enduro comfy seat ,snappy engine excellent rear air ride suspension and linq system is excellent. Wish I had a stock 150hp option from Yamaha but nothing for me. Takes time but we all grow up sometime choose comfort and handling over raw power and speed that you realistically can’t use 90 % of the timeIm 66. Lol haven't grown up yet. My brother rides my Apex. Why is it so funny? Do you know anything about the 900t? Do you own one? I owned a Sidewinder for two seasons and a 900t for one. How many years have you owned a 900t?"Snappy engine"

Isn’t the 900t only 30lbs lighter than the sidewinder? That’s half a tank of gas

It's funny because it is very clear that the one thing the 900T is known for(and its only weakness really) is a non-snappy throttle. Why is it so funny? Do you know anything about the 900t? Do you own one? I owned a Sidewinder for two seasons and a 900t for one. How many years have you owned a 900t?

In in your experience riding a 900t you’re saying it isn’t snappy? Pleases seat of your pants description would be a more appropriate."Snappy engine"

The engine is very snappy have you ridden a 900t? It gets up and goes just not going to do 12o mph with or without a tune and doesn’t compete with a SW and wasn’t meant to be in the same market as the SW.It's funny because it is very clear that the one thing the 900T is known for(and its only weakness really) is a non-snappy throttle.

Minimum 30 lbs lighter specs say 55 lbs lighter so it’s lighter than SW no question about that. Not easy to take off 30 to 55lbs on any 4s so the weight reduction of the 900t is very noticeable over the SW and Apex. Very noticeable horsing around on trailer doing dead lifts and less rider fatigue on big miles days to SW or Apex. Imo not much point arguing that a 900t is lighter than a SW by 30 to 55 lbs those are facts. You don’t mind the additional weight of SW fine with me but 900t is undoubtably much lighter than SW.Isn’t the 900t only 30lbs lighter than the sidewinder? That’s half a tank of gas

I'm taking your word for it. You posted a while back that you were able to 'get use to it', since you rode with your wife most of the time. Why is it so funny? Do you know anything about the 900t? Why does it feel like the 900T owners are often attempting to justify their purchase of one by claiming it's perfect in every way?In in your experience riding a 900t you’re saying it isn’t snappy? Pleases seat of your pants description would be a more appropriate.
Clearly it isn't.
When the Lester relics who normally fall all over themselves to heap praise on Doo come out and very clearly and correctly criticize the 900T throttle - you know there is a problem.
Whitedusts claim that the 900T throttle is snappy, would be like me claiming the Yamaha Nytros front end handling is confidence inspiring, lol

Simply sharing information owning both Apex and 900t trying to answer questions as they come up. As far as throttle response of 900t it depends what mode of the 3 are clicked on. Sport mode get up and goes maybe too hot for some Standard mode is very even spool up Eco is tame prolly tops out at 70mph good for loading and unloading avoids track spin. Only time I saw lag was on a demo 900t xrs in Eco I whacked the throttle from dead stop and nothing happened then the engine surged up. I didn’t like that but didn’t think ECO performance mattered much unless I was conserving gas. The 900t Enduro I bought doesn’t surge or lag in any of the 3 power modes but I do acknowledge there maybe some 900t that have throttle lag. I think this is why there are very different opinions from riders. At first I thought it was a matter of adjusting to 900t response now I think there may be some lag but not on all 900ts have the condition. I was lucky enough to ride several 900t models before I bought so throttle lag may have been present in Eco on 1 the other 2 did not have the condition. I hope this helps clarify as I saw it again just sharing info that may interest others since subject of OP in the beginning of the thread. Many off ramps in this thread so happy to return on topic. Why does it feel like the 900T owners are often attempting to justify their purchase of one by claiming it's perfect in every way?
