I was working on my sled (07 Attak) today and noticed a small puddle of coolant on the floor. Looked up on the skid, there seems to be a small drip right where the rear suspension mounts. I can't see any where where it's leaking from. Is the hear exchanger got a crack? How hard is it to take out? Can you weld them?

Any help would be great

:yam:

The crack is most likely right above the mounting bolt on the edge of the cooler. Drain coolant by removing the hose from the front of the cooler, remove side panel, remove rear hose cover, drill out all the rivets, remove cooler, have it welded and reverse the order. I made a diagonal brace for mine at that point, which is not the prettiest thing but stopped the cracking after the 3 times it happened to me. This seems to be more prevalent on the Attaks.

What tbsledhead said. They are prone to cracking there, just had my left exchanger off recently, took it to my locale prop repair dude & he did an awesome job welding it up. $30 weld job is a lot cheaper than what they want for a new one! Last spring I had my skid out because I had the shock re-valved, changed some bearings, etc, therefore, I had no other reason to take the skid out this fall so I just took the exchanger off, got it fixed then put it back on without taking the skid out with no problem.

X2.

Sorry to piggyback on your thread but am having close to the same issue on my 04 Warrior.

The coolant is coming down the rear drop bracket that the suspension mounts to. I cannot see it leaking anywhere else. Could it be the same issue as with the Apex? Cracked heat exchanger?

Yes it will be the same thing if you remove them and test to see how bad they are.
