Well I was changong my slides today and noticed the rear inner guide wheel bearing was completely gone. I was like WTF? What is involved with replacing this and the bar> The bar is all gouged so it will need to be replaced. I looked on my 2011 apex and the bar is beefirer. Can I replace the 07 with 2011 bar and wheels?

Its easy just keep the spacer alignment in the right order.
loosen the adjusters the whole way and remove outer nuts and wheels. It is a bit tougher stretching the track out to get complete unit back cause you have to get the inner wheels between the drive lugs on the track.

Sorry while you have it apart adding the 4th wheel seems to help with the load bearing back there.
Does the bar just slide out?
yes the axle alides out either side the center wheel and spacers will drop to the track
you only hace to remove 1 nut and wheel outside to remove
OK, got it out, now waiting on the replacement wheels. Know where I can get a diagram of the spacer seuence, as the spacers just fell randomely when I pulled the axle out?
Is that inner wheel called the idler wheel?
Technically anything that is not driven is an idler wheel I think it is just known as a rear axle center wheel.
This picture show how I used to run all of my rx's and apex' using the spoked after market wheels with replaceable bearings. You cannot see it but I am running 4 of these on the rear axle and this sled wen almost 10,000 miles with out a bearing or wheel failure.

If you want to make your own fourth wheel kit (highly recommended), this article shows you how. Even if you don't also shows how the wheels and spacers are set up:

While you have it apart replace all the rear wheels with the updated spoked wheels. They have the replaceable bearing which can be serviced.
I clean and grease them atleast once season to insure I don't have a failure like your pic shows.
x3 on what Mooseman and Yamadog recommend.
I will be doing a 4th wheel kit on a buddy's sled in the next couple days. I could post some pics for you showing the spacers and washer placement.

I put the 4th wheel kit on as well as the low snow marginal kit and the shock bearing mod all before I even rode my new to me sled back in 2010.
I did all those things, as well as update the wheels to 2010 models with replaceable bearings based on what I read on this site.
Not one regret or issue yet.
