Where is the best place(I.e. Price) to get a rear heat exchanger for an '03 RX1? All my search results turn up really old threads and leads.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You can't beat Barn of Parts !!

Another thought... The apex radiator works way better than adding the rear cooler and is cheaper than the rear option! The rear cooler is also vulnerable to having a rock thrown through it and costing you an engine. With the radiator and fan, it could idle all day long without overheating. The rear option still needs snow tossed on it, so ice conditions will be a problem.

I will second the radiator option. I have an 03 rx1 mountain. No heat light ever since the install even trail riding hard pack trails.

I added the fan and radiator last year & still had the light come on a couple times after that.

Interesting, I wonder what the difference is/was???I added the fan and radiator last year & still had the light come on a couple times after that.

One other thought, I do have homemade ice scratchers that I run anytime I'm on trail. Maybe that is enough???
I had a lot of hyfax wear when buddies wanted to go for a trail ride and they helped tremendously with hyfax wear with the 2" track.
So that could be the difference in our experience. ..?
I am certainly not saying don't put a rear cooler in as I am a believer in never too much cooling on our sleds. Just throwing some thoughts out there.

Thanks, I have been looking at scratchers too. I think the main cause of my cooling problems are that I am not a very aggressive rider. A lot of my riding is on just a single wide trails through woods, at low speeds. The radiator made a huge difference.

I have an Apex radiator and fan and in the right conditions the temp light will still come on, especially if it idles to long. I have ice scratchers on the skis to help even more. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

What kind of fan? I've never had an issue with mine, but also running a high flow computer fan (vantec tornado) I also modified the plastic covering by cutting out all of the vent openings that are normally closed. In any case, the rear cooler does nothing for idling and very little in low snow conditions without scratchers also.

The Apex radiator has a fan and I got the fan and radiator together. I also cut the cover to both make room and allow better air flow. My temp light only comes on in certain situations like slow going on icy trails or roads. Especially if my wife is riding with me and I have to go a lot slower. It will idle for about 10 minutes before the temp light will come on which is plenty of time for idling. This is a very good mod for any RX sled.

I have the apex fan too & that thing cranks. I have great air flow & you can feel the heat coming off the radiator so I know it is working. At this point I think I would rather go overkill & do all I can to prevent that light from coming on in any condition. Just ordered a heat exchanger, from barn of parts. Unfortunately they don't have stock at the moment, but have some in fabrication.
