I know this has been discussed before but I was hoping someone could help me out with a part # and best place to buy and exchanger that will fit my 07 attak
The large rear exchanger # is a 8ft-1241a-00-00. I got mine at yamahasportsplaza.com. Current price $308.00. Port yamaha current price is $370.00. You will also need the rivits to go with it @$1.00 ea. I thought kevin at port used to sell this as an install kit even cheaper....worth a call. Also pioneer performance Has this as a kit #p-e103 for $350. Also, if you are using studs, you need the extra tunnel extender protectors

Try these guys - Powersports plus. They list it for $290. I have been buying parts from these guys recently. Very happy. They also have the cheapest shipping options I have found. If not in a hurry for part you can let them ship it good old USPS and in a week or so part it is in for really cheap shipping. They also have Fed-Ex option as well if you need it fast.

P.S. I don't work for them or anything, just stumbled onto them this summer buying Attak parts. Prices were just great.

Go take a look at the TY Sled Build Forum, for the Apex XTX Suspension conversion, and go through the pictures and you'll see a very easy way to do it, using old Hyfax, and going from the existing tunnel protectors, and a few rivets. Use a heat gun to bend the Hyfax.

Look at the 4th picture, it shows it the best.
Call kevin at port.(the above post). They are great to work with, he will make sure you get what you need. That kit he just posted is priced fair, and they are a sight sponsor. Ask him what he can do for the kit + protectors. Tell him you are a member here....he will be fair. Also, pioneer performance is a sight sponsor. Go to their sight, and they have pictures/prices of both kits. They are good to work with as well.

This is what I did to my Attak. I'm running 1.325 studs with the 1.25 ripsaw. The key to making this work is raising the tunnel

Add some vents to the side panels to remove the heat from under the hood. Adding a vent to the right side of the sled with move cooler air past the fan.

Anybody got any good ideas on stud protection?
I saw one post where they raised the tunnel but I would rather do something a little simpler

Raising the tunnel was fairly simple. The extra clearence gives more room for error.
Another trick if to stiffen up the existing protectors with a spacer so they won't bend towards the tunnel.
