On my 03 rx1 the bearing in the very rear idlers are in bad shape. All of the other idlers have an internal snap ring to remove to replace the bearings. On these particular ones there is no snap ring that I can see. It looks like the bearing is sanwiched between the two halves of the wheel. I can see and read the bearing # of the bearing. Is there a secret to get these apart to replace the bearings or are the a throw away thing. I would sooner spend $10 to replace 2 bearing than $75 to replace 2 whole wheels.

If they are the stock yamaha wheels, the bearing are not replaceable. at least not on my phazer. The replacement wheels from yamaha have bearings that come out to swap them. So you only need to buy the wheels once and replace the bearing them there on.

I thought I was going to have to change a bunch of wheels on the 08. I actually purchased one, and thought, I should be able to get these cheaper, so thats why only only got the one to start with. Well, I decided to take them all off, remove the seals from both sides clean with WD40 and air, and re grease with grease needle. Worked great, never had to put the new one on yet, will keep as spare, Also did this with driveshafte and jackshaft bearing. Reall easy, bit time consuming doing all the idlers but worth it. And of course, I got all the great ideas from HERE!

I lost a rear wheel last week , I just ordered some older style aluminum ones that i can replace the bearings in . It cost more this once but next time bearings will be cheap. And i can remove them and regrease them too , so hopefully i shouldnt need to replace them . The older aluminum ones with the holes like the older V-Max"s use to run . I thought they would look cool polished next to my polished rails too.

Instead, order the new wheel for 2010 and up, which has replaceable bearings. Order number 8HF-47550-20-00. Just installed them on my machine and fit perfectly. Nice black spoked wheel and cheaper than the originals.

Sorry Ely, they do not! I just replaced all of the wheels on my Nytro, you probably seen my post on WSR.

Yeah, ended up going with the same wheels...I had loosened my track "8 turns" when I removed my skid. Seems to be too tight now with the slightly bigger wheels on there...may loosen it slightly (1 turn). I can barely even turn the track by hand now!
Managed to get out for a short run yesterday to see the new SS...first 50km of the season!

Don't be afraid to loosen that track up, it's not going to hurt anything.Elypsis said:Yeah, ended up going with the same wheels...I had loosened my track "8 turns" when I removed my skid. While idling on a stand, i like mine to be just on the verge of rolling, just a 2 cent tip for ya, no charge, lol.
